Comments Regarding Nucleus USB Cable

Oh my! I got the Nucleus USB today! I am totally sold just on the fit and beautiful finish of the cable alone, but there's so much more...

First, I let it settle in a bit after connecting it as instructed. I put my music library on shuffle running through Amarra. It was really hard but I just left the room and came back,after an hour or so, to listen for any improvements.

First Impressions:
I immediately noticed that my volume was louder... I mean much louder. Strange? After investigating, what was really happening was that I was getting less signal noise (and I thought my system was dead quiet before) but the Nucleus was able to go deeper/wider, top/bottom AND blacker into my music then I ever thought imaginable! I was also getting more detail...ton's more detail and this combined with the increased blackness, made my system sounded louder. This simple observation, within just an hour of settling into my system, tells me that something very special is happening with this cable, but it's not all positive... ;-) As is the case with high end systems, the better the gear the more revealing it is of poor quality production (mixing/mastering and recording). I just hate this but life is too short to listen to bad music. I have taken much care in properly ripping my music and in culling from my various playlists and CD's for anything that sounded poorly recorded or performed, or so I thought.... With the amazing increase of detail/blackness from the Nucleus, I was hearing things that were really revealing. When I say: "hearing" I really mean EVERYTHING! Good recordings jump out in spectacular depth, tone and 3d like imaging but my marginal recordings were horrid, flat and lifeless. Before the Nucleus any recordings precariously hanging on the edge of "just being good enough" in my system have been, with this new cable addition, mercilessly thrown off the cliff of excellence. I'm sitting here hitting delete after delete*sigh* oh well, I guess it just frees up storage space for buying more quality music.
Bottom Line:

I have added many different cables and tweaks to my equipment throughout the years but nothing has been more immediately impacting then the Nucleus USB. It's such a tired audiophiles expression, but in this case, adding your USB cable is really like a major component upgrade. Congratulations on such a fine product!
